REFERENCE (Draft 1)

Further links and geographic areas are constantly being added and updated. Please excuse us for the links which are no longer operational. Addresses change with remarkable rapidity as sites are understandably updated. We would therefore be grateful if you could notify us of any links you come across which are defunct.

Criteria used by IDM for selecting links:

  • Arbitration statutes and centres: only those which exist on the web, and published by relevant institutions (government or arbitral) of the countries in question. These institutions are under a greater obligation to keep their information updated so as to reflect the latest changes as and when these may occur.
  • Treaties: Only those posted at the relevant institution (e.g. Uncitral or ICSID). Again, this is a question of seeing the latest information, in the case of Treaties the issue of status (number of signatories) of the instrument in question being as important as the contents of the text itself.
  • Generally: legal and arbitration information posted on the web is constantly expanding, at an increasing rate. Together with the fact that existing sites are often updated if not changed, it is impossible to offer a complete reference site.

The purpose of this link site is to indicate what is possible, and encourage others to participate in the development of presenting this growing body of information in a cogent and informative way, using the latest web navigational tools available.

The links presented on this site may be completed by referring to other sites used or considered during the gathering of the present information. Statutes are transcribed and translated, institutions without a web presence are indicated, ideas expressed and developments explained.
