IDM is the result of experience gained from the conduct of arbitrations in various parts the world.  Although the procedure for settling disputes may differ, the problems encountered through lack of proper support tend to recur.

Meetings or hearings set aside for the resolution of a dispute usually require the attendance of several people, time wasted through lack of facilities can be most disruptive and costly.

The founding members of IDM realised that there was a need for a service that specialised in the organisation of such events.  Experience of dispute resolution is needed for the provision of that service.   That experience is available as part of IDM's service.
